I&#8217;d like to add my own tip to protecting your thermistor, lest your progress get halted too.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>Step 1: Don&#8217;t lose your thermistor<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it &#8211; don&#8217;t lose it. I just got the coil wrapped around my heater barrel:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.keegan.org\/reprapblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/l_2048_1536_5EDC6932-9994-4816-B845-47ED9D2CAEBD.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-364\" src=\"https:\/\/www.keegan.org\/reprapblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/l_2048_1536_5EDC6932-9994-4816-B845-47ED9D2CAEBD.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>..and I was all set to dive into the world of fire cement.
